Precharge Checking Procedure
- Ensure system is depressurized (P = 0)
- Connect nitrogen charging kit to gas valve
- Open valve slowly and read pressure
- Compare to charging pressure: --
- Adjust if outside -- range
- Close valve and remove charging kit
Always use dry nitrogen (N2). Never use oxygen or air - fire/explosion hazard!
Precharge Ratio by Application
| Application | Bladder | Piston | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Energy Storage | 0.90 x P1 | 0.85 x P1 | Standard recommendation |
| Pulsation Dampening | 0.60 x Pmean | 0.55 x Pmean | Based on mean pressure |
| Shock Absorption | 0.60 x P1 | 0.55 x P1 | Lower for more cushioning |
| Suspension | 0.30-0.40 x P1 | 0.25-0.35 x P1 | Depends on travel needed |
